Have you ever tried to play tag by yourself? ‘Nough said.

4. Because it’s the final 633 for seniors.

Celebrate with them as they finish-up their high school career.

5. Because your leaders love you.

Come chill with your leaders. Y’all have been training hard together all year. Cross the finish line together!

6. Because worship rocks with your voice.

We need more harmonies! And that means you!

7. Because you make us beautiful.

Each one of you represents a unique aspect of God’s creativity. We miss that if you don’t come!

8. Because we’ll have free food.

Um. Yeah, that’s pretty self-explanatory.

9. Because you never know.

Carpe Diem! Seize the day. Who knows where the next 633 will find you. Enjoy each day! Take advantage of every opportunity you can! Who knows…this might be the best 633 yet.

10. Because it wouldn’t be the same without you.

Fun is only fun if you have someone to share it with. The only thing faster than Twitter is being there!

Here are five simple but significant reasons you should consider going on a mission trip.

1. To discover missions. The best way to understand missions is to participate in missions. Mission trips give us eyes to see the need, and so often, that vision produces a heart and understanding for ministry. So to go is to know is to do missions!
2. To discover community. You might suppose hanging out produces community. Wrong! Coming around a central mission makes community. Ask any good football team. The secret to teamwork is more than simply being together. It is working for a common goal. Furthermore, when you are tried and stretched on a trip, you learn to rely on others, producing…yup, you’ve guessed it…more community.
3. To discover giftedness. You’ll never know until you try. So try you must. As you experiment with your talents, as you “try on” different types of ministry, you will discover your shape, your fit, your skills. Exploring your gifts with real world experience can quickly surface your unique talents.
4. To discover calling. Every year I see one or two people discover their calling on a mission trip. They don’t always know right away, but in the coming years they reach back to that trip to understand the development of their call. People return home determined to pursue medicine or missions or languages or whatever else all because of experiences they had on a mission trip.
5. To discover God. Perhaps most importantly, when we go on mission trips, we discover the wonderful, peaceful intimacy of closely aligning our heart with the heart of God. He has called us to mission. He has promised us provision in mission. And when we go, we come to know his care firsthand.

And here are some questions he provided for personal reflection and application:

1. Am I nurturing important relationships?
2. Am I severing harmful relationships?
3. Am I initiating significant relationships?

We have so many ideas about Jesus and what he’s like, but often those ideas are misguided or flat out wrong. In fact, when we encounter Jesus in the gospels, we see someone who often surprises us, who acts in wonderfully unexpected ways.

In this series, we will look at several of these surprising encounters, and we hope you will come away with a new and deeper understanding of who Jesus is.

If you are new to church or just coming back, this will be a great series for you. You will get a clearer picture of who Jesus is and what the fuss is all about.

If you are a long-time church goer, you may be stretched and challenged by some of these episodes in Jesus’ life we will consider.
